What to do at Disney parks in the rain

It looks like rain is in the forecast all this week. The weather got so bad Monday that Disneyland Resort closed the parks early.
But if you still plan to go to the parks, don’t let a bit of water rain on your parade. We’ve compiled the top 10 ways to make the most of a Disney day in the rain.
10. Stay out of the rain and go for the indoor attractions. Some of our favorites at Disney’s California Adventure are Disney Animation, It’s Tough to Be A Bug and Soarin’ Over California. At Disneyland, we’d recommend the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Innoventions.
9. Grab a cup of coffee. There’s no better way to stay warm than with coffee. A cup at the Disneyland Resort costs $2.59. Want free coffee? CLICK HERE to find out more about this Disney deal.
8. Watch the Aladdin Musical. The 45-minute, indoor show performs in the Hyperion Theater in Disney’s California Adventure, and will keep you out of the rain.
7. Wear a poncho. Ponchos are sold at many stores within the theme parks. Or, save money and buy a poncho at Target or Walmart before your trip.
6. Head for the E-ticket attractions. Believe it or not, most Southern Californians aren’t used to the rain, which means crowds will usually be light in the theme parks. This makes rainy days the prime time to ride the more popular attractions that usually generate long lines.
5. Bring an extra jacket or parka to sit on. Whether it’s a bench, the parking lot tram or the seat of the roller coaster, you’ll mostly be sitting on a wet surface. Avoid it by sitting on your jacket.
4. Check with employees to see what rides, attractions and shows are closed. Often, fireworks and parades are canceled during the rain, and likewise, rides like the Mad Tea Party are also closed. 3. Dine indoors. Some restaurants worth checking out, especially on rainy days, are the Blue Bayou, Ariel’s Grotto and Redd Rocket’s Pizza Port.
2. Warm up by the fireplace of the Grand Californian Hotel’s lobby. Oversized chairs will keep you cozy, or sit on the tile ledge around the the fireplace to stay extra warm. Time it right, and you can enjoy the music of the piano player while sitting by the fireside.
1.Ride Grizzly River Run. This wild white-water rafting attraction (or any other water ride) is perfect for the rain. You’re already soaked, so you may as well keep that trend up by riding Grizzly River Run. Plus, the lines for water rides are usually nonexistent on rainy days.
