Cirque du Soleil will end its run at the Tokyo Disney Resort at the end of this year, due to the impact of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, the theme park operator says. The show, called ZED, closed temporarily after the disaster because of damages to the theme park.

In a statement released Monday, the park's operator, Oriental Land, said, "It was mutually agreed that the business environment would remain extremely difficult; therefore, it was decided to close the show."There have been 1,000 performances of ZED, which premiered in October 2008. The final performance is scheduled for Dec. 31.
