The designsketch of the panorama of the Shanghai Disneyland resort area was disclosed on the Disney D23 Expo 2011, which was held in California, America.
According to the sketch, the theme park will cover an area as much as 1.16 square kilometers. And the invested capital will amount to CNY 24.5 billion. The theme park includes several unique theme recreation areas, a largest castle in the world and a beautiful park.
The Shanghai Disneyland resort area is divided into two parts; one is the theme park and the other is the huge artificial lake. The largest fantasy fairy tale castle in the world is located in the centre of the resort area. The overall shape of the blue artificial lake is much like that of the shape of the map for the United States. The 330 million citizens within 3-hour driving time to Shanghai are targeted as the potential tourists for the Shanghai Disneyland resort area. The Shanghai Disneyland Park is the first Disneyland theme park in mainland China and is expected to be open to the public in 2015.
