Disneyland Halloween night parties to include Stormtroopers

Stormtroopers, Duffy the Bear and Phineas and Ferb are set to crash Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland. Mickey’s Halloween Party is a series of after-hours parties that include an exclusive fireworks show, trick-or-treating, a character costume party and dance parties.

Beginning on Friday, Sept. 30, 10 events are scheduled for alternating Mondays and Tuesdays and every Friday throughout October. The series ends on Halloween. This year, Stormtroopers from the “Star Wars” saga will take pictures with party-goers Tomorrowland, popular Walt Disney Channel characters Phineas and Ferb will be at Plaza Gardens Stage and Duffy the Bear – dressed like a pumpkin – will greet guests at Town Square in Main Street, U.S.A.

Additionally, a new dance party called “Piratepalooza” is scheduled to take place at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante in Frontierland. “Buzz Lightyear’s Intergalactic Space Jam” is returning to the Tomorrowland Terrace. The parties require separate park tickets, which are $49, except for Oct. 28 and Halloween. Tickets on those two nights are $64. Party-goers, who have special wristbands, can arrive at the park in the late afternoon and stay after the park closes for general-admission guests.

Advance tickets are cheaper than buying them on the days of the events, when they will be $59. The prices are the same as last year. Tickets when the parties began at Disney California Adventure in 2005 were $18.
Disneyland will mark the Halloween season from Sept. 16 to Oct. 31.The seasonal change will include Mickey Mouse and other characters in Halloween costumes and the transformations of two rides. The Haunted Mansion will be temporarily re-themed into to a mix of Halloween and Christmas inspired by the animated film “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.”

On the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, ghosts appear and reach out as if to grab riders; the ride is accompanied by a soundtrack of screams, sound effects and haunting music. “”Halloween Time has become an annual tradition for many of our guests,” said Disney spokeswoman Michele Himmelberg. “Mickey’s Halloween Party is fun for families who like to wear their costumes to the park and take photos with characters in their Halloween attire.
