On Nov. 29, Disney Parks Blog announced the return of its popular New Year’s Eve party at DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort. The family party will take place at the “indoor interactive theme park” at Downtown Disney West Side at Walt Disney World Resort on the evening of Dec. 31, 2011.
As part of the special celebration, guests – especially kids – will enjoy a DJ and dance party in addition to unlimited access to DisneyQuest attractions. Admission to the party, which is a hard-ticket event, includes a coupon for a pizza, hot dog, chicken casesar wrap or hamburger, plus chips and soda.
Disney guests wondering what there is to do at DisneyQuest, the indoor theme park offers five floors of gaming fun, ranging from classic arcade and carnival type games to virtual reality games. Some of DisneyQuest’s most popular experiences:
Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride: Guests move through the city of Agrabah on a search for the magic lamp that will help save the Genie.
Animation Academy: A hands-on experience where guests learn to draw a Disney character. (This experience is Animation Academy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters: The bumper car game in which guest fire “asteroids” at other cars.
CyberSpace Mountain: Future Imagineers can design their own roller coaster using a computer, then experience the results on a simulator.
Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam: An interactive game in which guests play life-sized pinball.
Pirates of the Caribbean — Battle for Buccaneer Gold: Guests pilot their own pirate’s ship on a search for gold and in a battle with buccaneers.
Ride the Comix: Virtual reality comic book world in which guests battle the bad guys
Virtual Jungle Cruise: Guests river raft through prehistoric rapids as they attempt to avoid obstacles and the reality of getting a bit wet.
Then, of course, there is New Year’s Eve countdown for those who stick around until midnight. As part of its welcome to 2012, DisneyQuest will offer a confetti drop and party favors.
The DisneyQuest New Year’s Eve Party begins at 8:00 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2011 and continues until 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2012. Tickets cost $45 in advance and $55 for same-day purchases, including tax.
