US based entertainment industry giant Walt Disney has said that they are soon going to move to 3D format for their animated movies.
Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter said in a statement that all of their movies would be made in this format beginning with “Up” next year.
The company is however going to release “The Princess and the Frog” in the traditional hand-drawn format for release for Christmas 2009.
Disney subsidiary Pixar would however release their own movies in 3-D and the traditional two-dimensional format.
Lasseter added: “I love 3-D. I made a 3-D computer-animated short in 1989 called ‘Nickname,’ and in fact my wedding pictures with my beautiful wife Nancy were made in 3-D.”
