MUSIC and comedy come together in Jonas, a new series starring recording artistes of Hollywood Records including the ever popular Jonas Brothers. Jonas follows the fictional Lucas Brothers through the unexpected, unpredictable and often absurd situations these rock and roll superstar brothers face as they try to live ordinary lives.
The series features original Jonas Brothers songs created especially for the show. In the premiere episode entitled Wrong Song, Nick Lucas writes a love song for a girl he has just met - fellow student and aspiring singer Penny - despite warnings from Kevin and Joe that he was moving too fast with the brand new crush.
When the brothers attend Penny’s first gig, they hear her singing the love song to another boy. Meanwhile aspiring fashion designer Stella tries to invent a high-performance, tear-proof outfit for her friends to wear on stage.
The series is set in the Lucas' unique New Jersey home, a converted fire station equipped with technical gadgets on Jonas Street — the inspiration for their band's name, where they live with their parents, Tom and Sandy, and little brother Frankie.
When not on tour, they attend Horace Mantis Academy with their childhood friend and fashionista Stella Malone. She helps keep the brothers grounded while making sure they always look their best, re-styling her own and their school uniforms on a daily basis. Her best friend is the school's star athlete, Macy Misa who admits to being the number one Jonas fan.
The new series also features Chelsea Staub (Minutemen), Nicole Anderson (Hannah Montana), John Ducey (Will and Grace) and Rebecca Creskoff (Mad Men). The title theme song Live to Party was written and recorded by Jonas Brothers. The brothers had also starred in Disney Channel's Camp Rock, the number one cable entertainment telecast in the US with a total of 10.1 million viewers in 2008.
With executive-producers Roger S.H. Schulman (Disney Channel's Phil of the Future, Shrek) and Michael Curtis (Phil of the Future, Friends), Jonas carries a TV-G parental guideline. Jonas premieres Sunday, Aug 9, at 5.30pm on Disney Channel. After the premiere, the series will continue at 5.30pm every Saturday and Sunday.
