Well we woke up on this rainy Sunday morning and our first thought was, where oh where have our favorite TV cartoons gone over the years.
One of our favorite shows was “Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers” which ran on the Disney Channel and was produced by Walt Disney Television Animation.
The show, which first aired on March 5, 1989, was created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove and starred some of our favorite Disney characters:
- Chip
- Dale
- Gadget
- Zipper
- Monterey Jack
- Fat Cat
- Norton Nimnul
Disney News: Disney’s Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers | Disney Dreaming The characters, Chip and Dale, who were seen before in numerous Disney shorts, appeared in their own show where they teamed up with their friends to solve mysteries and crimes.
That the police couldn’t investigate because they weren’t small enough! Interestingly, the show’s opening music was performed by The Jets and was was written by the same person who wrote the theme song to one of our other favorite Disney Channel shows “Duck Tales.”
Disney News: Disney’s Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers | Disney Dreaming Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers ended its run on November 19, 1990, however it was syndicated until September 3, 1993. And we’re pretty sure we’ve watched almost every single episode!
Looking back at the time frame that this show aired we are extremely impressed by the character drawings and how clear and sharp they all were. We’ve picked up copies of the episodes on DVD and they look like they were just made yesterday!
There was also a computer game released based on the show, which we really wish they would remake and release on a new video game platform because it was seriously cool.
